Family Day is OZ Arts’ annual public festival of indoor and outdoor arts activities for young people and families, designed to spark creativity, activity, and imagination. Dispersed among the grounds of OZ Arts, dozens of local artists and community organizations set up activity stations enabling kids to tap into their imagination while having fun with friends and family members.
Focusing on a theme of “sports and art” for the 2017 edition of Family Day at OZ, not only will art-making stations feature sport-themes (think jump rope making, bike wheels & skateboard decks), but visual artist Brandon Donahue will create two interactive art installations including an outdoor volleyball court and indoor basketball court.
OZ Arts will also display a selection of Donahue’s wall-hanging artworks using scavenged sports equipment and found urban artifacts.
Moving the “mainstage” outdoors this year, we transform OZ Arts’ front parking lot into a park of BMX and skateboard ramps for two stunt performances. Not to be missed…or tried at home!
